The Velvet Jimis, was an Oak Park band, born at the Friendly Tap in 2008 (www.friendlytap.net) in Berwyn, Illinois. Jimmy Darley (vox, harmonica and percussion), Randy Hess(vox and bass), Loren Middleton (vox and lead guitar), Rick Renner (vox and rhythm guitar), Jason Edwards (vox and drums), Emile Williams (MC and Vox)and Christopher Styles (Vox) produced colorful and diverse original compositions and a raging parties at every show. The Velvet Jimis performed regularly in the West Suburbs(Fitzgerald’s Night Club, The Friendly Tap) and Chicago( Lincoln Hall, Double Door, Elbo Room, Reggies Music Joint, . Their Debut album was “The Distance Between Us” recorded and distributed in 2010. The Velvet Jimis went on to record several other singles and after dissolving the band in 2018 they are leaving one parting shot with their final EP release “Exit” available soon!
