Loren Middleton, also known by the stage name Lojazz, is an American jazz, blues, and R&B guitarist, composer, and producer based in Oak Park, Illinois. With over 20 years of experience, he is recognized for an eclectic style that blends the explosive influences of Jimi Hendrix, Carlos Santana, George Benson, Albert King, John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Ronnie Laws, Joe Pass and Wes Montgomery  with sophisticated acoustic and jazz articulation. 

Professional Career and Musical Style

• Performance: He performs both as a solo artist and with various ensembles, including the bands, ERFnLO, TASH, and Gin & Sonic. He has been a regular performer at Chicago-area venues such as FitzGerald’s Night Club, Robert’s Westside, Friendly Music Community, Gallery Cabaret Chicago and Lemon Chicago.
• Production: He is the owner of Lojazz Records, an independent media label and production house used to publish his original compositions and support other independent artists.
• Early Background: Raised in Indianapolis, he studied multiple instruments including piano and trumpet before focusing on guitar at age 14. Early in his career, he led “The Bluesed and Battered Band” on the Chicago blues circuit.
• Other Professions: In addition to his music career, he is a practicing criminal defense attorney.
